Wired in to Ashley Pham

Oh the awesomeness of the panda Phu Pham!

So we had yet another amazing adventure with the Dora the Explorer wannabe Ashley “the Ninja Panda” Pham. She had been out in the great white north of Canada for the past while having fun with friends, working, modeling and enjoying the amazingness that is poutine. As soon as she got back into the good ole US she was back into our studio eating candy and getting prepped for another kick ass shoot.

Chilling on the car seat covered in paint and wires...

We didn’t have a plan thought out, but I did have a plan in the back of my brain like the good panda that I am. We had to go shopping, hardware stores and Target were on the list of places to stop in and we grabbed all the necessary items and spent about an hour setting up and getting makeup ready freddy. The agenda was wires, edgy and the love of crazy makeup. Oh, the airbrush machine was busted out and I got to test my makeup ability so in case you were wondering I did the makeup so ha!

Kyle, who was supposed to clean up the metal rotating blades was instead playing on his computer, which was fine cause I had him carry all of our lovely gear. Off to the adventure that involved driving merrily through the woods to grandmothers torn down farm house and proceeded to unpack, repack and get the lighting setup we go?! We purchased a brand new toy and have fallen completely in love with it and the light it helps create is pretty much awesome… Lumiquest LTp soft box you are my favorite new toy. After a few quick tests we were rolling and only had a few adjustments to make before the images were spot on to what I was looking for.

In case you were wondering it was cold and Ashley does not like the cold so I am super appreciative of her ability to stay focused while shivering in the freezing pre-winter cold. Sadly the person who complained the most was Kyle who was all about his cold fingers and needed a pack of hot hands while Ashley was in her underwear covered in metal wire and paint… Love you Kyle :)

After about 30 or so odd minutes it was time to head out of the location as it was very dark and slightly scary. I used my awesome night vision ability since using a flashlight around the property might have gotten us caught, but you know it’s fun stumbling around an area where if you fell you might be covered in broken glass or poop. Sadly someone noticed a car park in the area in which we were to exit. We camped out for a few minutes, chatted about the game plan or lack there of and proceeded back to the car where I maneuvered the grounds with no lights on and camped far out enough where we could see them but they would have a hard time spotting us. Minutes passed and eventually a second car rolled up alongside said car that we already didn’t like. Some were sure it was a cop… maybe even a pair of them now; some of us were not so convinced just yet so we waited it out. Eventually the cars departed and we exited hastily from our location and back to the studio.

Oh how the adventures in Chris, Kyle and Phu Pham land always seem to get better. Now we just have to convince her that she needs to pose in the winter snow… I see a candy bribe coming! Major thanks to miss Ashley for coming out yet again to our fair city and she even came packing not one, but two birthday cakes for me!!!! Also Kyle was sort of helpful so I have to thank him too I guess. I know Ashley enjoyed punching him the whole time cause he acts so silly. Well, it’s that time and this kid needs some rest. Have fun and as always, stay tuned for more!
