What do you get when you cross a bags full of candy, sadistic amounts of sarcasm, gold leaf and awesomeness? Apparently Ashley Pham covered in gold leaf 
I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Ashley exactly three days ago and rocking out about 9 hours of photo fun and craziness with her and part of the FotoEnvy crew. She must have enjoyed the experience because she immediately wanted to come shoot again and spend time with our merry bunch so of course we set some time aside to work out ideas and plan out yet another fun shoot.
We had an idea about photographing her with gold leaf on her face from a mannequin she saw while out shopping merrily in Chicago. I loved the idea and immediately let her know that i have gold leaf, body glue and plenty of experience applying it. This of course was not too well planned out because it meant I had to sit uncomfortably in front her applying this with her wearing pretty much nothing. I’ve photographed a lot of beautiful women and many without a single article of clothing on. What most people don’t know is that I’m very shy even around partially naked women because I’m a gentleman at heart and do have a fine set of morals.
After willing myself through the amazing makeup session we quickly packed the vehicle and hit the town so we could make it to our destination in time.
Oh the love of lofts. I am such a fan of giant windows, wood floors and tin ceilings. Major props to my buddy Matt for the hookup and definitely couldn’t have done this without him. Sadly winter takes a lot of locations out of the picture, but luckily I have enough connections to get me by for most of it.
Upon arrival we did some quick lighting tests, white balance check and a quick model/makeup check. Once all was in order we began the difficult process of deciding on a lighting setup to use. I tried to go simple, but sadly I just wasn’t getting a single thing I fell in love with so I moved on to a slightly more complicated setup and worked it till I got images I loved and then moved on to a different area and changed up the lighting.
An hour and a half passed and I knew I had some kickass stuff from this so we called it a day, packed up and put everything back they way we found it.
I’m realizing slowly why everyone loves working with the ninja panda Ashley Pham. This girl is hilarious! I’d also like to point out that her blood is about 70% sugar and even though she is nice she also has a sadistic side to her that I enjoy because it means she punches Kyle. Bonus! Definitely one of the top 3 funnest girls to be around and her energy mixes well with the group so I’m a huge fam. She is also somewhat pretty. I say this only because if I’m too nice to her she may just grow a little ego
Thank you again Ashley for the awesome shoot and hope you enjoy the images that ended up with you being covered in glue, gold and baby oil. Can’t wait to see you again and don’t forget about us when you’re even more famous than you are!
