Adventure time with Amanda…

I am truly a huge fan of adventure even if it means that I put myself into quite a bit of danger. Now it’s not the Indiana Jones type of danger, but more like the punk school kid kind of danger where you end up in places you shouldn’t and need to listen closely for police asking you to leave.

Today was definitely a fun type of adventure in photography. New model, two new locations that involved lots of sneaky entering/exiting and of course the company and help of a good friend and photographer. Thanks to a tip from a good friend we found the locations and with some mad skills on my part we were able to enter a new abandoned house that was in epic condition for shooting.

Amanda, our newest model, joined us for her first “real” photoshoot on location and we could tell she wasn’t too prepared for the adventure, but man is she a trooper. We walked in to our new spot, immediately found some amazing areas to shoot and went crazy for about 35 minutes before deciding to head out. It’s a good rule of thumb to notice the best possible lighting and backgrounds for shooting in a new space. Without such ability you waste valuable time not taking pictures and making a good clean getaway. Luckily local police take about 45 minutes to ever arrive anywhere ;)

The second location was an overgrown and abandoned drive in movie theatre. OMG, was this space amazing, but sadly a pain to get too. Next time we will definitely allow the model to wear regular shoes instead of trekking it in high heels through thick grass and mushy earth. This location has tons of potential, but as a rule we didn’t shoot all of it or our next adventure out here would have nothing new to it.

All in all this was a great time and the group bonded pretty well and thankfully Amanda didn’t die of her case of black lung, but she did unfortunately catch a strange disease and laughed uncontrollably the entire time we were out shooting… BTW, walkie talkies were the best purchase ever!

Thank you Miss Amanda, you rocked and we snapped your best pics yet and can’t wait to hit the scene with you again. To the mysterious tipster and shooter, “Love you Jeffery!”
